Celebration of Achievement 2016!

Once again Learning and Development welcomed people from all across the organisation to our special evening, where we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our staff and service users. As Ambassadors for Apprenticeship the aim of the evening was to celebrate a year of achievement and excellence.

The third annual Celebration of Achievement Evening was held at the Cedars and hosted a record number of guests. The beautiful table decorations were prepared by service users at Blossom Fields in Day Services.

Chief Executive Andrew Grainger began the proceedings by welcoming everyone and talking about the value of lifelong learning. He highlighted the importance of learning from our service users and being open to new skills and knowledge. National Director Kate Silver also spoke about the significance of learning and continued development.

The awards for successfully completed Diplomas were distributed with style by two of our Service Users, Craig Waring and Shane Haigh.

As part of the night’s festivities we were proud to launch a new film in celebration of our achievements as Ambassadors for Apprenticeships as well as the individual achievements of the people we support. This film was shot entirely by our staff and service users, using special cameras to capture the achievements that matter the most to each individual. The final product showcased the great variety of success the people we support have achieved over the last several months.

Our training providers honoured their chosen Learners of the Year:

JLP - John Wager, Rawcliffe Road

CTS - Shaun Pike, Meadow Lane

ARC Training - Carolyn Kennedy, Norley Road

                            Kirsty Birchall, Learning and Development

Progression Training - Shaun Williams, Community Support Wales

Partnership Training - Kevin Smith, Head Office Day Service

       Tracey Foulds, 32 Chambres Road

Yvonne O’Neill was recognised for her long service to the organisation, and spoke about her wealth of experience and accomplishments over the last 30 years. We also gave out awards to those staff and service users who regularly deliver Autism Awareness training for us in partnership together.

The evening was a great triumph and enjoyed by everyone who attended. Congratulations once again to all our successful candidates.
