Established in 2011, MeCycle was originally set up as a project by Autism Initiatives recycling and refurbishing bikes that had been donated. We moved to our current retail site at Ainsdale in 2012 and have proven to be a popular destination for locals and cyclists from around the borough and much further afield!

We restored this original provisions store and used mainly recycled and second hand furniture to fill the shop and give it its unique look and feel.

We pride ourselves on recycling as best we can, making sure that many parts are reused and scrap metal is recycled.

MeCycle

MeCycle receives donated bikes and refurbishes them for sale in the shop along with a range of new bikes and accessories. We also fix and repair, with all repairs overseen by Cytec qualified bike mechanics.

The café acts as a popular destination for cyclists both locally and as far afield as North Wales, Manchester and Chorley. You will always see families, couples and groups meeting and chatting, eating and drinking a selection of barista coffees, exciting teas, craft beers and wine as well as home-made cakes, soups and sandwiches.

The café is available for group meetings in the early evening and offer a range of cycle activities, led bike rides, Dr Bike sessions and basic maintenance courses.

Follow us on Facebook Instagram and Stored to keep up to date on new bikes for sale, events and offers.

“I wish I could put into words how much I am grateful for everything you have done for me and how much of a difference you really made. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you, so thank you.”
