Autism support in schools
The right support in education can make all the difference to children and young people with Autism and Asperger syndrome.
We can all succeed
At Autism Initiatives we believe that all children and young people with autism and Asperger syndrome should receive an education which allows them to reach their individual potential.
Peterhouse school is a non-maintained day and residential special school for pupils aged 5-19 with a diagnosis of Autism spectrum condition.
Peterhouse acknowledges each student as an individual with a focus in their strengths and preferences. We understand each person’s autism, its unique impact and respond with personalised strategies to support this. Focus is on individual outcomes in preparation for adulthood – preparing the student to be a successful adult with autism.
Our motto, 'We Can All Succeed', is a shared ethos that pervades the whole school. Our positive, proactive approach is child centred, with autism at the forefront of our thinking and practice. All are equally valued within this caring, forward thinking dynamic environment.
