Are there other One Stop Shops for Autism?

Yes, the first One Stop Shop ‘number 6’ service was initially set up by Autism Initiatives in Edinburgh in 2005. Since then over 1000 individuals have received support and accessed the social opportunities provided from there.

Number 6 has been so successful that the Scottish Government commissioned 6 further services as part of their autism strategy.

Who are Autism Spectrum Connections Cymru?

Autism Spectrum Connections Cymru is a Welsh service providing charity for people with Autism Spectrum Conditions, their families and carers in Wales. We are part of the Autism Initiatives group of charities.

Throughout all of our activities we aim to work in real partnerships with people with an ASC, their families and other people important to them.  Because we recognise that autism affects people uniquely, we develop unique solutions to meet individual needs. This very individualist and person-centred approach helps us to provide positive outcomes, enabling people to do what is important to them and supporting them to become successful people with autism.

Autism Initiatives are one of the leading service providers and autism charities in the UK. A parent led charity which started in 1972, Autism Initiatives now provide person centred, user led services for people with autism spectrum conditions across the UK and Ireland. Autism Initiatives are founding members of the Autism Alliance UK.
