Support for parents

Is your child autistic?

Children's Services

Pat Minshull founded Autism Initiatives because she couldn't find the right support she needed for her son Peter.  We understand how difficult it can be to get an initial diagnosis and how important it is for every parent to know that your child is getting the very best support tailored to their individual needs.

Children and young people with autism transform their lives when we start working alongside them using our specialist knowledge and support methods. Along with two schools, we run residential homes, community resource centres, supported work placements and a further education college.  We also work in partnership with schools, pupils and parents to support children in mainstream education to fulfil their potential.

Tim, said: "I feel that doors have been opened now that were not open before. Being here fills me with optimism – I’ve been shown that more things are possible and with the right support I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I live every day rather than just go through the motions. I can look forward to the future now.”
Diane said: "The level of support and care is consistently outstanding, even when my son is not having one of his better days. The staff are caring and compassionate at all times. Not only are our son’s complex needs met but he has a fun-filled day – every day!”
Zoe said: "I knew I was different. Thanks to Autism Initiatives I am more confident and happy."
